So I'm so post to list 7 things about myself oh boy!!!
1.while I'm in the craft room I always have a teaching tape or praise music playing.
2.I get moody when the house is a mess,I hate it I can't stand it...
3.when I make cookies or brownies,cake I scoop out some of the batter and hide it when the kids leave the kitchen I eat it up..lame I know!!!
4.Um HOPE MY HUBBY DOESN'T READ THIS ONE!When me and my mom go shopping I have her put the things I bought on her credit card only if I go over my sending limit..Hey when you buy the shirt then see a sweater or coat that goes with and then some pants but you see the shoes and a purse to, wow you got to buy it how often do you find a whole outfit...Sorry honey now you know why I write random checks to my mom!!!
5.I procrastinate a lot...
6.My favorite meal is tortellini Alfredo....I love a good Alfredo sauce...
7.I need to have more patience's and not be so hard on myself,but who isn't...

This year we were thinking about getting a fake Christmas tree...

I was not sure if I really wanted to get one

So while I was gone one evening my husband decided he wanted a fake tree so he set off to find one that would pass my standards as fake goes...

Well he found one he loved and when I returned home he had it all set up for me.
Minus the decorations.

I must say he did a wonderful job and just think in 6 years it will have payed for itself.
Oh did I not mention he payed a small fortune for it ,but hey it looks so real
I couldn't tell when I got home that it was fake.

I can't wait for Fall the cool weather the colors and the decor....Swoon I love FALL....So in preparation I thought I would once a week do a cozy Fall dinner.So last night the men got a homemade pot pie and I thought I would use my new leaf cutters to decorate the top.Today I went and picked me up a few Fall scented candles and placed them around the house just to tease my senses...So here's to Fall and all it will bring.What do you love about Fall?

I found this recipe for watermelon salsa so I have been really wanting to try it out so tonight I thought would be a great time.Sundays are our days to spent all together my hubby only has one day off a week from his work and now that football has started he is back to coaching so right after work he heads out and doesn't get home till after 8:30 some times.So anyways tonight he went to the market and got some carnes asada for some tacos and I made the salsa.It was devine the perfect refreshing touch to the meal.I hope you all are enjoying these very last days of summer break and have a Blessed Sunday...

Recipe as follows

3 cups finely diced seedless watermelon

2 jalapeno peppers,seeded and minced

1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1/4 cup minced red onion

juice of 2 limes

1/4 teaspoon of salt

mix ingredients and chill until ready to serve

Summer Grilling

I love when the weather is nice outside because that means I am getting out something to grill.Here at the Morris house I do the grilling,lets just say I like my meats edible plus I was taught all I know by my dad the master of the grill well in my house growing up anyways...
So with football starting well its HELL WEEK as they call it the boys come home ready to eat.
Oh and yes that is a Weber I love my Weber will never use anything but its the charcoal flavor that just makes everything taste great...

As the chicken is grilling,oh yes I did marinate the chicken for a few hours in this.I went inside and started my pasta and gathered my fresh herbs Basil and Tarragon which I got from here.Cut up a few fresh lemons and went to get the chicken off the grill.As the chicken set I drained the pasta and added it to my platter and tossed in the herbs and squeezed the fresh lemons on top.Then cut up the chicken and added it the pasta and garnished.No sooner were the boys home and ready to eat...I love the summer days and the smell of the grill.

My hubby has been working a lot so when he called to see if I wanted to meet him for lunch I jumped at the chance.We went to one of my favorite places in town Panolivo's.I love there Crab Brioche Sandwich with lemon aioli it is so good....Mouth watering I need a napkin please...and of course a side of frites...

Off to clean the house with a smile on my face and a full belly...Thank you honey for the yummy lunch date...

A Visit To Explore Part Two

After we left the farm we headed back into town and stopped to check out Natures Touch Nursery and Harvest.

You will find seasonal gourmet grocery's that specialize in locally grown,certified organic and naturally grown produce,dairy,fruits,breads,and meats.I really wanted to check out there Specialty plant nursery that stocks only California natives,Antique flowers and certified organic veg and herbs.

I love the raised beds.Umm add that to my list of backyard makeover plans.I really want to have a place to grown some fresh herbs and veggies....

For those of you that grew tomatoes this year or purchased some plants and they haven't produced for you no fear your plants aren't sick,you didn't get a bad plant the weather has been colder than it should be so your plants need warm weather to be able to produce so hang in there.(notice the curled leaves)

They also have a yummy selection of homemade treats to tempt you so if you are in need of some great herbs for your garden stop in and say hello to Melanie she would love to help you with any questions she also has a radio show called Earth Talk...

A Visit To Explore

My Niece came for a visit for a few days so I thought it would be the perfect time to explore some new places that have opened up and I have been meaning to check out.So she arrived on Friday mid afternoon so I made us lunch.Tarragon chicken salad sandwich with strawberry salad and lemon thyme sorbet for dessert .After lunch we chatted and got caught up and we decided on what we would do tomorrow.

The first stop we made was the Happy Acres Farms.I love all the yummy smelling and tasting products they make.We grabbed a basket and started to dig in.

After smelling all the delicious scents we decided on the burnt vanilla lotion made from goats milk.It not just smells divine but makes your skin so soft.We also bought some of there delicious fresh chevre for a mid day snack...

TODAY IS MY ANNIVERSARY,ME AND MY HUBBY HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 10 YEARS BUT TOGETHER FOR 13 YRS....HE SURPRISED ME WITH A EARLY ANNIVERSARY TRIP A FEW WEEKS AGO SINCE WE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET AWAY THE WEEK OF...SO WE WENT TO LAGUNA BEACH/DANA POINT AND STAYED AT THE CLIFFS RESORT IT WAS GREAT ,ROOM SERVICE, WATCHED A MOVIE OR TWO,SHOPPED,WENT DOWN TO THE BEACH WERE HE PROPOSED TO ME,IT WAS SO WONDERFULLY ROMANTIC...WHILE WE WERE THERE WE WENT TO VISIT HIS BROTHER AND SISTER IN LAW THEY TOOK US TO A BEAUTIFUL WINERY AND HAD THE BEST DINNER AND AS THE WAITER CAME TO THE TABLE TO ORDER MY HUSBAND SAYS MY WIFE WILL HAVE THE BLA BLA AND I WILL HAVE BLA BLA...THE WAITER SAYS TO ME WOW YOU DON'T SEE THAT ANYMORE A MAN THAT ORDERS FOR HIS WIFE WHAT A KEEPER AND THAT GOT ME THINKING HENCE THE TITLE OF THIS POST...ALL THE THINGS MY MAN DOES FOR ME AND I'M SO USED TO IT UNTIL IT IS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION SO THIS IS MY LIST OF 10 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY MAN...

I would like to share with you my daily devotional...

Done As You Have Believed

Matthew 8 :13
{Then Jesus said to the centurion,"Go your way;and as you have believed,so let it be done for you."And his servant was healed that same hour.}

What are you expecting God to do for you today?Do you believe that God will respond according to your expectation?When Jairus,distraught at the sickness that was claiming his daughter's life,fell at Jesus' feet,he entreated Jesus to personally come to his house to lay His hands on his daughter so that she would be healed.(Mark 5:23.)
But do you know that Jesus can heal at a distance?He didn't need to go to Jairus'house to heal his daughter.Still,Jesus went and didn't even chide Jarirus for his little faith.He met Jairus' expectation-his little daughter was raised from the dead that day.(vv.41-42)
Why do I say Jarius had little faith?Because there was a Roman centurion who came to Jesus about his servant suffering at home.He recognized the power Jesus had and asked only that Jesus "speak a word,and my servant will be healed"(Matthew 8:8).Jesus told him,"Go your way;and as you have believed,so let it be done for you."True to the centurion's expectation,his servant was healed that same hour.
My friend there is no particular level your faith must reach before God gives you what you are asking for.Your faith does not initiate God's giving.He has already given to you all things that pertain to life and godliness.2Peter1:3)His blessings are pressing on you already!Regardless of the level of faith you are at,He will respond.Jarius needed Jesus to go to his house to lay His hands on his daughter,and Jesus did.The centurion only needed Jesus to speak a word for his servant to be healed,and Jesus did.He met both their expectations.
My friend,don't fix your eyes on how much or how little faith you have.Fix your eyes on the One who loves you,who has already given you what you need.When you come to Him,simply believe that He is waiting to meet your expectations.He will say to you,"Go your way;and as you have believed,so let it be done for you."

I just love knowing that were ever we are at God will respond to us and our needs.I know sometimes it doesn't look like it or we say God I asked you and you know my needs why is this happening, why am I having to go through this but you know what I have seen God do and have come to know that even thought the circumstance(s) may look bleak or hopeless God will bring you through it no matter what it is and if you keep on believing in Him and putting all your trust in Him and stop trying to do it ourselves but really let it go and say OK God I'm done trying cause I can't do it I can't fix this.Only He can and as soon as we let go and move out of the way He can finally work on our behalf...So have faith in knowing he loves you no matter what you are already forgiven and he already saved you so go and have peace about what ever it is that may seem so big to us cause it's so small to God he will fix it he will heal you He will provide for you He will do it for you because He loves you...

California Chicken Sandwich with Avocado Cilantro Dressing
Ingredients
4 slices of Garlic San Luis Sourdough Bread
8 slices of Havarti or Pepper Jack Cheese
1 large tomato sliced
1 cup of baby spinach
2 TSP + Olive Oil
½ lb fresh ground chicken (1/2 lb breast/ ½ thigh)
Seasoned with
3 TSP crispy bacon or real bacon bits
A few twists of fresh ground pepper
Pinch of salt
1 tsp chopped shallot
½ TSP minced garlicAvocado Cilantro Dressing
1 large ripe Haas Avocado
1 TSP Light Sour Cream
1 TSP Mayonnaise
½ tsp. celery salt
½ tsp cumin
Fresh ground pepper
2 TSP Chopped Cilantro
The juice of 1 lime
First make sauce so that the flavors can melt together. Simply combine all ingredients and mix well until smooth. Toast or grill bread. Then, Season chicken and mix well. Score into 2 sections and form into the shape of the bread. Pat well, and pat dry with a paper towel. Heat oil over med/high heat. Meanwhile, lay out remaining sandwich components to make an assembly line of sorts. Add patties to the pan, and don’t turn for at least 1 full minute to get a crispy outer burger. Spread each side of toast with about 1-2 TSP of dressing. Add in layers, spinach, cheese and tomato. Season tomato with pinch of sea salt and pepper. Turn chicken and cook about 5-7 more minutes depending on thickness. Place on bread and serve with a local spinach salad. Also, it's just as good to use grilled chicken rather than ground chicken.
