Sunday Supper

I found this recipe for watermelon salsa so I have been really wanting to try it out so tonight I thought would be a great time.Sundays are our days to spent all together my hubby only has one day off a week from his work and now that football has started he is back to coaching so right after work he heads out and doesn't get home till after 8:30 some times.So anyways tonight he went to the market and got some carnes asada for some tacos and I made the salsa.It was devine the perfect refreshing touch to the meal.I hope you all are enjoying these very last days of summer break and have a Blessed Sunday...

Recipe as follows






3 cups finely diced seedless watermelon






2 jalapeno peppers,seeded and minced






1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro






1/4 cup minced red onion






juice of 2 limes






1/4 teaspoon of salt






mix ingredients and chill until ready to serve

Summer Grilling

I love when the weather is nice outside because that means I am getting out something to grill.Here at the Morris house I do the grilling,lets just say I like my meats edible plus I was taught all I know by my dad the master of the grill well in my house growing up anyways...
So with football starting well its HELL WEEK as they call it the boys come home ready to eat.
Oh and yes that is a Weber I love my Weber will never use anything but its the charcoal flavor that just makes everything taste great... 

As the chicken is grilling,oh yes I did marinate the chicken for a few hours in this.I went inside and started my pasta and gathered my fresh herbs Basil and Tarragon which I got from here.Cut up a few fresh lemons and went to get the chicken off the grill.As the chicken set I drained the pasta and added it to my platter and tossed in the herbs and squeezed the fresh lemons on top.Then cut up the chicken and added it the pasta and garnished.No sooner were the boys home and ready to eat...I love the summer days and the smell of the grill.

Lunch With My Man

My hubby has been working a lot so when he called to see if I wanted to meet him for lunch I jumped at the chance.We went to one of my favorite places in town Panolivo's.I love there Crab Brioche Sandwich with lemon aioli it is so good....Mouth watering I need a napkin please...and of course a side of frites... 

Off to clean the house with a smile on my face and a full belly...Thank you honey for the yummy lunch date...

A Visit to Explore part three

A Visit To Explore Part Two

After we left the farm we headed back into town and stopped to check out Natures Touch Nursery and Harvest.

You will find seasonal gourmet grocery's that specialize in locally grown,certified organic and naturally grown produce,dairy,fruits,breads,and meats.I really wanted to check out there Specialty plant nursery that stocks only California natives,Antique flowers and certified organic veg and herbs.

I love the raised beds.Umm add that to my list of backyard makeover plans.I really want to have a place to grown some fresh herbs and veggies....

For those of you that grew tomatoes this year or purchased some plants and they haven't produced for you no fear your plants aren't sick,you didn't get a bad plant the weather has been colder than it should be so your plants need warm weather to be able to produce so hang in there.(notice the curled leaves)

They also have a yummy selection of homemade treats to tempt you so if you are in need of some great herbs for your garden stop in and say hello to Melanie she would love to help you with any questions she also has a radio show called Earth Talk...
